Department of Defense Awards XTec Incorporated 5 Year BPA to Support DOD CAC Program
DoD’s Defense Manpower Data Center Taps XTec Incorporated for Secure Credentials and Middleware
RESTON, Va., November 27, 2017 -- XTec Incorporated, a leader in the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) smart card and credentialing industry, today announced that the Department of Defense’s Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) awarded the firm a five year BPA (Blanket Purchase Agreement) to supply DMDC cardstock, middleware and electromagnetic sleeves for smart cards to support the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) program. The BPA has a ceiling value of $82 million. XTec was the only company awarded the BPA to supply cardstock.
XTec partnered with three major smart card suppliers, Oberthur Technologies (OT), Gemalto and Giesecke & Devrient America (G&D), to provide smart cards that are compliant with the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 201 and all DoD requirements. “XTec has provided nearly 15 million smart cards to the federal government during the past 15 years,” said Kevin Kozlowski, XTec’s vice president of government initiatives. “That experience gives DoD an unparalleled level of assurance that XTec will continue support DMDC and deliver the highest quality products and services, on time and within budget.”
XTec partnered with DMDC for the past five years supporting the DoD CAC program and is honored to continue to support the DMDC mission through this BPA. Fulfillment of these task orders will allow DMDC to secure resources by using smart cards for Government employees, contractors and military personnel while meeting DoD personnel identification requirements and moving to the Next Generation smart card.
Under the terms of this BPA, DMDC may also utilize XTec’s middleware bundle, AuthentXware, as well as related licensing and support. AuthentXware is approved by General Services Administration as a FIPS 201 compliant product.
XTec has delivered Personal Identity Verification (PIV) smart cards, card products and high security identity card services to Federal Government Agencies including: Department of Homeland Security, General Services Administration Managed Service Office (USAccess Program), National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Courts, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services and Department of State.
